LEADING PRO-TROOP GROUPS JOIN TO SEND CARE PACKAGES TO AFGHANISTAN Soldiers' Angels and Move America Forward Join Forces to Send Hundreds of Care Packages to Troops Deployed Overseas
Sacramento, Calif. - Soldiers’ Angels and Move America Forward are collaborating on another wave of care packages going to troops serving overseas in the front lines of the war on terror. The two groups are assisting each other in coming up with donations for sponsoring care packages and matching them to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan who are in special need of some recognition and support. Move America Forward is able to ship four and a half tons of care packages to troops from their warehouse in Sacramento, thanks to names provided by Soldiers’ Angels. Soldiers’ Angels specializes in providing accurate and secure names and addresses of deployed troops. Soldiers’ Angels provided over 700 names of troops in Afghanistan for this latest shipment. “This is a year-round effort and already 2012 looks very strong. People are eager and excited to support our brave troops overseas.” says MAF Executive Director Shawn Callahan. “We are so proud to be able to help out the troops with gourmet coffee, cookies, beef jerky, Jelly Belly candies and other items, but this shipment would not have been possible without collaborating with Soldier’s Angels. They provided the names and addresses for the majority of these care packages.” said Callahan. “We hear from our troops all the time about how much this type of support means to them, we are honored to be able to direct to them the gratitude and thanks they deserve,” said Toby Nunn, Soldiers’ Executive Director. This is a join press-release. To schedule an interview, please send requests to the appropriate media contact for each organization.

PRO-TROOP GROUP CLAIM MEDIA OVERREACTED TO VIDEO OF MARINES AND DEAD TALIBAN
Sacramento, Calif. – The pro-military organization Move America Forward is defending the Marines in the now-infamous video depicting them urinating on the bodies of dead Taliban combatants. The group says that the media and officials overreacted to the video and the Marines involved should not be made an example of, as many are trying to do. “Our troops have been fighting these Islamist extremists for 10 years and have seen the savage violence, destruction and death they have caused. The enemy does not respect the lives of their own wives and children and our troops have uncovered mass graves with thousands of their own people who have been slaughtered.” said Debbie Lee, a spokesperson for MAF, whose son Marc Alan Lee was a US Navy SEAL who died in Iraq in 2006. "My sons life along with thousands of other fallen warriors was ended by these terrorists, our troops have done back to back, multiple deployments and I see our government in DC using this as a political move to discredit and dishonor all of our military. We have to understand that these Marines were under fire, those Taliban were trying to kill them, along with other innocent people." “Clearly, I think the media went after these young men to try to string them up in front of the public and paint them as monsters or war criminals. Politicians and columnists on the left tried to link the video to Haditha, Abu Ghraib, and Guantanamo Bay. Ironically the only similarities between them are the fact that in each case, the left tried to make a single, isolated incident into a huge scandal and try to use it to undermine the whole war effort. It’s shameful and deplorable and it seems like those on the left care more about the enemy than our own troops.” “Rather than blow this up into a national security issue, we should deal with these Marines with a little understanding of the tough position they are in. The discipline for their actions needs to be handled by their Commanding Officers, which should include a reprimand and apologies to their unit. We do not need to set up a war-crimes tribunal or press criminal charges.” said Lee. A Letter to MAF Supporters
12/15/2011 A letter to Move America Forward's members and supporters
to mark the end of our mission in Iraq.
The Iraq war is finally over. After 8 long years of war and counterinsurgency operations, we can congratulate our troops for a hard-fought victory. We thank all of our troops for their service and sacrifice. Especially to those families who lost loved ones, words cannot express the debt of gratitude this nation owes you.
The decision by the current administration to fully pull troops out, and not negotiate a permanent American military presence in Iraq, is a dangerous one. It remains to be seen if the Iraqi military and police will be able to withstand the attacks from terrorists groups that is sure to come. They want to destabilize the new Iraq in it’s infancy and create a breeding ground for more terrorists to attack the U.S. Our troops prevented these groups from taking hold for years, but now without our presence, Iraqi forces will be tested and we wish them the best of luck in defending their country.
We should also not forget that if certain people had their way, this day would have never come. Along with the trials and tribulations that our troops endured, and the heroism they displayed, the history of the Iraq war is also marked by shameful words and actions of those on the left here at home who scorned our troops and criticized their efforts.
Thousands of angry protesters filled the streets with ugly rhetoric about our troops and their mission, trying to re-create the Vietnam era in the 21st century. People like the Cindy Sheehan and the leaders of groups like Code Pink Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans, used the bloody war and perverted the memory of fallen troops to push their far left political agendas. Some politicians tried to use the hardships of our troops in Iraq to score political points. Senator Harry Reid once said our troops had lost the war. The late Congressman John Murtha of Pennsylvania called Marines who fought in Haditha ‘cold-blooded murderers’. Barack Obama campaigned for his senate seat and then the presidency on an anti-war platform, calling Iraq a ‘dumb war’ and spoke out against The Surge. That surge, which went ahead despite attempts Senator Obama to stop it, eventually turned Iraq from a bloodbath to a place safe and secure enough for our troops to be leaving today.
In response, groups Move America Forward led marches and rallies across the country, organizing with other pro-troop organizations like Gathering of Eagles, Band of Mothers, Eagles Up!, Vets for Freedom, Free Republic, and others. Our message was clear, “Support VICTORY and accept nothing less. Support the troops until the job is done.
Thanks to our millions of supporters around the country, we did support our troops. We planned hundreds of pro-troop rallies and sent hundreds of tons of care packages to our troops overseas. We fought against those calling for our troops to CUT AND RUN. Our American troops stayed, they fought on, they persevered until they got the job done, and now they are able to come home proud of the work they did.
To our supporters, we thank you for your time, the emails you have sent to your friends and family, the money you have donated and used to sponsor care packages for our brave troops. It was all worth it. We could not have continued our efforts without your support, and we will continue to count on your support as we keep up with supporting our troops in Afghanistan.
As for our troops, well, we cannot thank our troops enough. We are proud to have supported them for the duration of their mission in Iraq and we remain resolute to continue supporting our troops in Afghanistan until their mission is complete.
Sincerely,
Danny Gonzalez

Obama Taking Credit for SOFA Set by Bush
10/21/2011 PRESS RELEASE: 21 OCTOBER 2011 CONTACT: Danny Gonzalez (714) 926-6189 danny@moveamericaforward.org
PRESIDENT OBAMA AGAIN TAKING CREDIT FOR FOLLOWING PLAN SET FORTH BY PRESIDENT BUSH
The nation’s largest Pro-Troop group admonished President Obama today for shameless political posturing from a president who refuses to acknowledge his faulty foreign policy pronouncements during his campaign for President, but now finds himself following the plan set forth by President George W. Bush “This is shameless politicking with American foreign policy, “said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for MAF. “Obama is taking credit for something his predecessor set in motion, and using it to bolster his re-election campaign. Yet during his campaign for President, Obama criticized every aspect of Bush’s Iraq plan. He now pretends that the framework already set down is in actuality his own changed policies - which have brought the war to an end in Iraq.” Today, in an official statement personally delivered by the President, Obama said, “As a candidate for president, I pledged to bring the war in Iraq to a responsible end, for the sake of our national security, and to strengthen American leadership around the world. After taking office, I announced a new strategy that would end our combat mission in Iraq and remove all of our troops by the end of 2011.” Gonzalez responded to the President’s comments, “Obama opposed the surge in Iraq, which turned the corner for victory against Islamic extremists. When Bush signed the status of forces agreement to withdraw troops at the end of this year, Obama opposed it. When Bush wanted to keep prisoners, Obama opposed it. When Obama became President, he recognized that he was wrong and Bush was right. Obama should be big enough to admit it rather than shamelessly trying to take credit for ending a war that was done due to the Bush policies. “We give credit where credit is due. When our troops killed Osama Bin Laden, we gave President Obama credit for approving the mission, but now he’s turning around and claiming that he’s delivering on his campaign promises. It’s a lie. He is following the successful Bush game plan, and he should admit it instead of politicizing it and taking credit for himself. He’s taking credit for the Status of Forces agreement negotiated by the Bush Administration and signed November 17, 2008. That agreement plainly stated that the plan was for all US troops to be out by December 31, 2011, so for Obama to take credit for this is just an absolute lie.” Gonzalez went on to point out that besides the SOFA set forth by Bush, there was a plan to negotiate having a small US force left behind to curb the threat of Iran against the new Iraqi government, and that it was left for Obama to negotiate with the Iraqis. “Today’s announcement really shows a failure of President Obama to negotiate the residual force that we need to stay behind in Iraq in order to keep Iranian adventurism in check. We’ve already seen numerous incursions by Iranian forces over the Iraqi border, and if all US troops are sent home by 2011 the weak Iraqi army will not have anyone to support them. What if al-Sadr’s supporters make an Iranian-backed bid for power, or worse, if the Iranians simply roll across the border with tanks? There would be a new war just as costly as the first and Obama will have failed to protect the peace that our troops gave so much for.”

PRO-MILITARY GROUP RECOGNIZES HEROIC MILITARY WORKING DOGS SENDING DOG TREATS/TOYS TO DETECTION DOGS IN AFGHANISTAN
Sacramento, Calif. - The nation's largest grassroots pro-troop organization, Move America Forward, is used to sending care packages to people, but after sending over 200 tons of care packages, they're trying something new. Sending care packages to dogs. "Military working dogs are extremely important to our missions in Afghanistan and Iraq, they help keep our troops alive and safe from threat of IEDs, which account for the majority of military and civilian injuries in Afghanistan." said Danny Gonzalez, the group's Director of Communications. "We wanted to show our appreciation for the dogs and their expert handlers - who are also heroic troops themselves - who go out and find IED's before they can hurt our troops or innocent Afghan civilians who are using the roads. The bond between the dogs and their handlers is very strong so we're going to send special care packages which include items that the troops can actually share with their dogs and help foster that bond that is so important." said Gonzalez. The care packages being sent include coffee, cookies, beef jerky, gatorade, deodorant and other helpful items for the troops, along with assorted rawhide bones, dog treats, or chew toys for the dogs. The money to pay for these packages is raised on the groups website http://www.moveamericaforward.org and the group send care packages on an ongoing basis, as donations allow. MAF Statement on Death of Osama Bin Laden
5/2/2011 DEDICATION OF AMERICANS TROOPS, INTELLIGENCE OFFICERS, BRINGS OSAMA BIN LADEN TO JUSTICE
Sacramento, Calif. – The nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, Move America Forward, says that US Servicemen and intelligence officers are to be praised for their dedication and credited with the killing of terrorist leader Osama bin Laden. “President Obama spoke to the nation tonight, bringing us the good news that Osama bin Laden had been killed by Navy SEALs in a CIA planned operation. Americans have been waiting for justice for over nine years now, and finally justice has been served.” said Debbie Lee, spokesman for the group. Debbie’s son Marc A. Lee was a US Navy Seal and was killed in Iraq in 2006. “I’m so proud that it was a Navy SEAL team that killed Osama bin Laden, and I just wish Marc could be here with his fellow SEALs to share this with the country he died protecting. Marc graduated from his SEAL training shortly before 9/11 and when that heinous attack was carried out by Al Qaeda, Marc wanted more than anything to see justice done. I know he’s watching with satisfaction from Heaven today.” “We want to thank all of our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the intelligence community who have been hunting bin Laden for years. This is yet another victory for Americans and for justice for all the victims of radical Islamic terrorists around the world. Where would we be without our troops? They have proven that they have the dedication and patience to complete any mission, to deal with any threat and we want to thank our troops for that. “It’s also important to thank all of those American patriots who have supported and stood by our troops through all the years. They have been patient as well, for they have continued to send support to our troops even when the media and some politicians were NOT there for the troops. At Move America Forward we will be continuing our mission of supporting our troops, as they are still deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and until all of our troops come home we will continue sending our support and our care packages to our brave troops on the front lines. We invite all Americans to joins us.” concluded Lee. To schedule an interview with Debbie Lee or any MAF spokesperson email danny@moveamericaforward.org or call (714) 926-6189

“PRESIDENT GAVE NO CLEAR ANSWERS TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE” SAYS PRO-MILITARY GROUP
Sacramento, Calif. - The pro-troop grassroots organization Move America Forward says that President Obama’s speech on Libya provided no tangible answers that the American people were waiting for. “We have been waiting for answers from the president, and tonight he talked a good game, as he usually does, but provided no clear answers to the American people.” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the group. “American interests should be at the heart of our foreign policy,” said Gonzalez, “but how is he ensuring that our interests are served when he’s been subservient to the United Nations and now turning military control over to NATO? We should be taking a direct and active role in ensuring that the outcome is favorable to our interests which means being able to assure the American people that the rebels are not more hostile to the United States than Gaddaffi. So we still don’t know if we are serving America’s interests or Europe’s? “ “President Obama has also said that he wants Libyans to determine their own destiny, not Gaddaffi, but says we could not have had a coalition with regime chang
e as a goal. He seems satisfied to allow Gadaffi to stay in power, claiming that taking Gaddaffi out would create another Iraq. We are not satisfied by that answer. Allowing a dictator to continue brutalizing his people while enforcing only a low intensity no-fly zone and sanctions under the constraints placed by the international community is exactly what allowed Saddam Hussein to stay in power after the 1991 Gulf War. It set up the need for a war later on, which would be the worst result possible if we are dragged into a third war. Once again it shows that Obama doesn’t realize that appeasement does not prevent war, it only prolongs the suffering of the oppressed and sets the stage for more catastrophic conflicts later.” “President Obama still owes the American people some answers,” concluded Gonzalez. “Military families around the world are looking at this situation with much worry and uncertainty and the President failed to provide them any reason for new confidence.” To schedule an interview with Danny Gonzalez or any MAF spokesperson email danny@moveamericaforward.org or call (714) 926-6189

PRO-TROOP GROUP URGING OBAMA TO RETALIATE WITH MILITARY FORCE
The largest organization of veterans, military families and their supporters, Move America Forward, is urging President Obama to respond to the North Korean crisis with military force, after North Korean artillery shelled an island belonging to neighboring South Korea, an attack which killed two and prompted return fire from South Korean military. “Every minute that goes by without swift and overwhelming military response from the US Military is weakening America’s position as a counter to North Korea’s aggression, and weakens our allies, the South Koreans.” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the organization. “Obama should have responded immediately with a missile strike to take out the bases where those artillery shells came from, or a strike on some of South Korea’s navy, or their anti-air missile systems. There are many ways to respond with force, but in some way he should have had a military strike to disarm or disable North Korea’s offensive capability. America cannot tolerate direct attacks on our allies, and the longer Obama waits to respond, the weaker position we are in. We’re calling for Obama to initiate a direct military response immediately.” said Gonzalez How many of our allies’ people have to die before we gather the courage to react decisively and strongly to defend our allies and hold the North Koreans responsible for this deplorable act of aggression? The North Koreans were confident enough that America would not defend her allies, that they attacked the South Koreans with blatant impunity. We should call their bluff, and the window for effective deterrence of further aggression is closing fast, and we are hoping the President will act accordingly. Move America Forward is a non-profit pro-troop organization that supports the troops and their missions and the war on terror.

PRO-TROOP GROUP SAYS JUSTICE DEPT. FAILED THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FIRST GITMO TERRORIST TRIED IN CIVILIAN COURT GETS OFF WITH ONLY ONE MINOR CONSPIRACY CHARGE
Sacramento, Calif. – The nation’s leading pro-troop organization, Move America Forward, says the acquittal of Ahmed Ghailani of all but one charge of conspiracy is a failure by the Department of Justice and proves the point that civilian trials are not the place to try GITMO terrorists. “We visited Guantanamo in 2008 and ever since, we’ve been saying that it’s the best place to house the terrorists and that the military tribunal system set up there, while not perfect, is the most effective way to prosecute terrorists. The case of Ahmed Ghailani serves as proof of this. The Department of Justice bungled this case by insisting on trying Ghailani in civilian court, thereby eliminating their own key witness,” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the Move America Forward and one of the 9 MAF staffers who visited the detention facility in 2008. “If Ghailani had been allowed to be tried by a military tribunal, we would have gotten a conviction on terror charges. The conviction on one conspiracy charge that the Department of Justice is heralding as a victory is nothing more than a slap on the wrist when you consider what this terrorist deserves. Ghailani is responsible for the deaths of over 200 Americans and deserves a lot more than a 20 year sentence, but unfortunately for the American people, justice was not served today. We hope this is the last time the Obama administration attempts to try a GITMO terrorist in civilian court and we strongly urge the use of military tribunals to obtain convictions of known terrorist and their collaborators held at Guantanamo Bay,” concluded Gonzalez. Ghailani was a key component of the bombing of US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998 that killed hundreds of innocent people, including 12 Americans. These bombings were considered some of the worst acts of terrorism against US targets pre-9/11. With the trial moved to civilian court, the prosecution’s key witness was barred from testifying after a judge ruled that military interrogators used coercive tactics to extract the information from Ghailani himself that led to tracking down the key witness for testimony.

PRO-TROOP ORG CHARGES ANTI WAR GROUP CODE PINK WITH PROMOTING HARM TO TROOPS! TERROR-SUPPORTING GROUP CODE PINK ASKS OBAMA TO PARDON WIKI LEAKS SUSPECT AND ENCOURAGES DANGEROUS INTEL LEAKS
Sacramento, Calif. – The nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization Move America Forward is standing up for U.S. troops again, as yet-again, the virulent anti-war group CODE PINK is threatening the lives of U.S. troops around the world. "CODE PINK is back at it again, this time they are asking President Obama to give a full pardon to the dangerous traitor Bradley Manning, the apparent WIKI LEAKS source!" said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the Organization. "Last week dozens of military analysts and millions of Americans around the country were absolutely mortified that our military had a traitor in it’s ranks. A traitor who passed along critical information, knowing it would be made public, so that our enemies could use it to KILL OUR TROOPS. "Shamefully, the terrorist-supporting anti-war group CODE PINK actually encourages this dangerous betrayal and encouraged more troops to come forward and put their fellow men and women at risk. CODE PINK wants to allow our troops to be at risk, and possibly killed, they are just as much traitors as Bradley Manning is." concluded Gonzalez. This is not the first time CODE PINK has put the lives of American troops in such grave danger. The anti-war group has famously provided encouragement, comfort, and indeed material support to terrorists actively engaged in a war against American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, is now calling on President Obama to give a presidential pardon to apparent WIKILEAKS leaker Bradley Manning. CODE PINK is known to have provided over $600,000 in cash and medical supplies to terrorists, and their families in Fallujah, as well as years of providing comfort and care to the terrorists, the enemies of America and killers of U.S. troops abroad.

Pro-Troop Group Announces Dennis Miller, MANCOW Muller and Noel Sheppard Will Support Troopathon!
Move America Forward is excited to announce the addition of Comedian and Talk Radio host Dennis Miller, Talk Radio host MANCOW and Noel Sheppard from NewsBusters to our slate of guests for the upcoming Troopathon. Dennis Miller is known not only for his striking political commentary and uncommon sense of common sense wisdom, but also his amazing success as a comedian. Miller’s comedy shows on HBO were hugely successful for over 9 years, as well as many stand-up specials he made successful. In the political world Miller is a master of blending comedy with political opinion and common sense understanding of the issues. Miller is a huge supporter of our troops and is national spokesperson for the pro-troop charity USA Cares which supports wounded veterans and 9/11 families. Mancow. The name sounds strange, the man seems even stranger! But despite his eclectic style and hip attitude, Mancow Muller is a dedicated supporter of our brave troops and their missions in the War on Terror, he even allowed himself to be waterboarded to challenge the thought that it's inhumane torture when used against terrorist detainees at GITMO. Mancow is an absolute patriot and on his daily radio show advocates for common sense to strengthen America and keep us safe from our enemies who have sworn to kill us. Noel Sheppard is the Associate Editor of NewsBusters, which is an amazing resource for conservatives as they scour the internet, TV, and radio for the best examples of the liberal left bias in the media. Noel Sheppard is also a contributor to the National Review’s “Planet Gore” as well as one of the best blogs on the internet – “American Thinker” This 8 hour live broadcast is hosted by Melanie Morgan, talk radio veteran and pro-troop advocate . Obama Choice for SCOTUS, Elena Kagan, Angers Pro-Troop Groups Kagan Choice a Slap in the Face to Military and their Families
Sacramento, Calif. – The nation’s leading grassroots military-support organization, Move America Forward, says military families and their supporters are extremely displeased to learn that President Barack Obama has chosen Solicitor General Elena Kagan to join the U.S. Supreme Court. During a time of war, when America faces threats from Islamic terrorists, and when we have troops fighting on the ground in Afghanistan and Iraq, we need a judge who understands and supports our military. Elana Kagan is not that person!” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications. “Kagan was the last person from Obama’s short list that military personnel and their families want to see appointed to the Supreme Court. Not only has Kagan never even been a judge, she has a record of being radically anti-military, most notably in her opposition to the Soloman Act.” When Kagan was Dean of Law at Harvard University, she expelled military recruiters from campus in defiance of The Solomon Act, which she has argued against in writing and speeches. She, along with 40 other law professors, argued to the Supreme Court against the Soloman Act, but her arguments were rejected by even the most liberal justices. “President Obama should be appointing to the Supreme Court only those who truly appreciate the heroism and contribution to our freedom we get from the United States military. Kagan fails that test, and we hope she will be summarily rejected in confirmation by the United States Senate.” concluded Gonzalez

Peace Activists Plead With Police to Arrest Mother of a Hero
Afraid of a Little Free Speech? Anti-War Groups Think Only They Should Have a Voice
Hood River, OR. – Move America Forward has been contacted by local police in Hood River and informed that a woman named Susan Crowley went to the Hood River police today and pleaded with them to arrest Debbie Lee immediately, for inciting a riot. Susan Crowley who is a member of ‘Columbia River For Peace’ the group organizing that anti-military ‘conference’ is described on their website as a former attorney and the person who initiated the protest against Insitu. “I’m not the one they have to worry about,” said Debbie Lee, the mother of a hero, Marc Alan Lee the first Navy SEAL to be killed in the war in Iraq. “There has never been any sort of violence initiated by our side at a rally I’ve spoken at or organized by Move America Forward,” she continued, “Cindy, on the other hand, has been arrested more than a dozen times, she’s been banned from the White House and whole cities, I’ve never been arrested. I think Cindy is afraid of a little dissenting opinion and she has to be afraid that our crowd of patriots is going to be a lot bigger than her little crowd of antagonists.” MAF, which is the nation’s largest grassroots military support group, is holding a huge rally in Hood River, Oregon today to support the troops and oppose the anti-war leftists who are attacking our troop’s missions and the Insitu company which provides drone UAVs for our troops and is a major employer in Hood River. The police did not indicate that they had any intentions of arresting Debbie.

Gold Star Navy SEAL Mom Leads Pro-Troop Message Opposed to Cindy Sheehan’s Protest Both Lost Sons in Iraq. Now they Face-Off in a War of Ideals
Hood River, OR. – The nation’s largest grassroots, pro-troop organization, Move America Forward, is sending their main spokesperson, Debbie Lee back to Hood River, Oregon this week to face off against Cindy Sheehan, the anti-war protester who camped outside of President Bush’s Crawford, TX ranch. “Hood River is my hometown,” said Debbie Lee, whose son Marc was the first Navy SEAL to be killed in the war in Iraq. “When I heard that Cindy Sheehan was going to be protesting the war, and protesting Insitu here in MY hometown, I knew I had to be there. That’s where I raised Marc and the rest of my children, that’s my home, and there’s no way I am going to let Cindy Sheehan bring her anti-American message without being there to say ‘You don’t speak for me, Cindy!’” Through both have lost sons in the war, Debbie Lee speaks out in support of the troops and their missions in the war on terror. Her inspiring speeches at rallies across the country have inspired but most of all thanked our troops for their sacrifices. Cindy Sheehan has chosen to speak out against the war, often making unsubstantiated claims that her son Casey “stood up against an unjust war” despite the fact that her son re-enlisted and volunteered for the mission that ended his life. Debbie Lee will be leading the pro-troop rally, expressing gratitude for our troops this Saturday April 17th in contrast to the anti-war ‘conference’ being held in the same town, where Cindy Sheehan is expected to speak in opposition to the War on Terror and the use of drone unmanned aircraft in that conflict. Debbie’s son Marc was killed August 2nd of 2006 in Ramadi Iraq, sacrificing his own life to save his fellow SEALs. After a fellow teammate was wounded, Marc stood up in the line of fire twice to provide cover for his buddies to retreat. After seeing his team returned safely to base, Marc volunteered to go out again to find the same insurgents and took sniper fire through a window, again putting himself between the enemy and his fellow SEALs. Marc was posthumously awarded a Silver Star, a Bronze Star for Valor and a Purple Heart for his actions. Casey Sheehan was killed on Palm Sunday, April 4th, 2004. An armored truck mechanic in the 82nd Field Artillery Regiment of the Army, Casey volunteered to go on a combat mission to rescue a group of soldiers pinned down by intense enemy fire. In the resulting firefight, Casey and 7 other soldiers gave their lives. Casey was posthumously awarded a Bronze star and Purple Heart for his heroic actions that day. “Cindy Sheehan has trashed our troops, their mission, and the legacy left by millions of troops who have come before and sacrificed their lives to pay for the freedoms we now enjoy. Cindy takes those freedoms for granted; she does not recognize that without our brave troops, she would not have the freedom to speak out as she does. I’m going to back to my hometown of Hood River to remind Cindy that she doesn’t speak for Americans like myself and our members of Move America Forward. Unlike her, we support our troops, we appreciate their sacrifices, and we are grateful for what they’re doing right now, in the Middle East, to protect us back home.” concluded Lee.

PRO-TROOP GROUP MOURNS LOSS OF POLISH PRESIDENT KACZYNSKI REMEMBERED AS AN ANTI-COMMUNIST LEADER, PATRIOT AND ALLY IN WAR ON TERROR
Sacramento, Calif. – The nation’s largest pro-troop organization supporting the war on terrorism, Move America Forward, was deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Polish President Lech Kacynksi, his wife Maria, and a number of high level staff, including senior military officials. The Polish officials were killed in a plane crash, currently thought to be caused by pilot error, in Russia. “The loss of the Polish president and his senior military advisors is an absolute tragedy. President Kaczynski was a virulent anti-communist who really helped his country escape the crushing rule of the Soviets.” said Sal Russo, the Chief Strategist for Move America Forward. Russo ran the media campaign for independence of Ukraine as it broke away from the Soviet Union. “Poland has been one of the strongest allies of the US; they have sent troops into Iraq and Afghanistan to help America fight the war on terror, and they are a critical part of our planned missile defense shield. “President Kacynski was a big proponent of those efforts and we will miss his pivotal leadership. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, as well as the families of others lost in this tragic accident. Our sympathies extend to the Polish people who have lost one of their most cherished leaders,” concluded Russo.

Leftist Activist Cindy Sheehan Attacks Drone Manufacturers Pro-Troop Groups Unite to Defend U.S. Troops and Automated Allies
Sacramento, Calif. – The anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan who famously camped outside President Bush’s Crawford, Texas ranch is leading a protest against a small manufacturing company in Oregon that makes unarmed, unmanned drone surveillance aircraft for the U.S. military. The pro-troop group Move America Forward is working with local military and community groups to support the company and the troops fighting the war on terror, especially those who are helped by technology. “They’re attacking the use of drones and the people that make them because they say it ‘hides the human cost of war’” said Move America Forward’s spokesperson Debbie Lee, who lost her son in the war in Iraq. “But these anti-war people tend to forget, or they just don’t care, that these drones are saving the lives of our troops, taking on dangerous missions that would otherwise risk the lives of America’s bravest most precious resource, our young men and women. “ The anti-war activists, led by Sheehan, are holding a ‘conference’ in Hood River, Oregon next week called “Challenging Robotic Warfare and Social Control” where organizers will give seminars protesting the use of drone aircraft for surveillance as well as combat. The anti-war groups hope that ending the use of drones would speed up the end of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. In response to the attacks on the drones and their manufacturers who employ hundreds of people from the small town strapped for jobs, Move America Forward and related groups are holding a pro-troop rally on April 17th in response. “We want to show our troops that despite what these anti-military groups say, and despite what Cindy Sheehan has to say, we support our troops, and we support using drones to minimize casualties. There are hundreds of military families out there who have lost family members in the wars and some of them might still be alive today and this conference is an insult to them.” concluded Lee, whose own son Marc was the first Navy SEAL to be lost in the War in Iraq. “The most disgusting thing about these protests is that these anti-war folks act like we need to give the terrorists a fair fight.” concluded Lee.

Nuclear Statement Puts Politics before Security Obama Cozying Up to the Left by Weakening Nuclear Policy
Sacramento, Calif. – President Obama’s nuclear arms policy, unveiled today at a speech in Prague, pleases his far-left base but does little to improve national security, says Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization. “Once again, President Obama is playing politics with America’s national security policy,” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for Move America Forward. “This policy does not strengthen America’s bargaining position in our increasingly dangerous world. It fails to put increased pressure on threats to peace, like Iran or North Korea, and fails to adhere to the successful strategy of Ronald Reagan of peace through strength.” “Like Obama’s plan to close Gitmo and turn dangerous terrorists loose or into the U.S. criminal justice system, this is a policy to appease his left wing base. It may make Obama look like he wants peace, but history has shown that appeasing your enemies almost guarantees conflict. “Under Obama’s new policy, countries without nuclear capability will be emboldened to use chemical or biological weapons because the Obama policy rules out the nuclear option. We should not let our enemies know that if they attack America by any means other than nuclear, America will not retaliate with nuclear force. Even another terrorist attack such as what happened on 9/11 or a chemical/biological attack will not warrant a nuclear response under the Obama doctrine. That is only inviting our enemies to take their shots. “When America weakens its position, history shows, our enemies don’t back off. They only get bolder.” concluded Gonzalez. “That puts our country at a greater risk. You can’t deter our enemies by limiting our strength.”

BLAST IN MOSCOW REMINDS NATIONS THAT JIHAD REMAINS A GLOBAL THREAT PRO-TROOP GROUP SAYS ATTACK SHOULD WARN OTHER COUNTRIES TO STAND WITH U.S. ANTI-TERROR EFFORTS
Sacramento, Calif. – Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots-pro-troop organization, reacted to the news of multiple terrorist bombings in Moscow subways early Monday. The group expressed disgust at the act, offered condolences to the victim’s families, as well as a stern warning for nations bowing out of the war on terror. “We are saddened by this terrible news of further terrorist attacks by Islamic extremist separatist groups in Russia. We offer our prayers and thoughts for the victims and their families as they suffered a painful loss. Today’s terrorist attacks are no different from the actions of insurgents bombing police stations in Iraq, the bombing of buses in London, trains in Madrid, or the World Trade Center on 9/11, “ said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for Move America Forward. “Terrorist acts like these, perpetrated by radical Islamic terror groups, serve as a harsh reminder not only to the government of Russia but also to all nations that we are fighting a global war on terror. Instead of pulling troops out of Afghanistan, as we have seen some European nations talk about, countries ought to think hard about offering more cooperation with the United States. It is not only critical for U.S security but worldwide security and stability that our coalition succeeds in Afghanistan. ” concluded Gonzalez. Over 38 innocent Russian citizens lost their lives today when two Chechen rebels, thought to be females, executed suicide bombings in two subway stations early this morning in Moscow.

IRAQI ELECTIONS SIGNAL OF SUCCESS FOR TROOPS IN IRAQ
Sacramento, Calif. – Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troops organization praised American troops on the day of the Iraqi elections. “The fact that our troops were largely able to stay out of today’s elections in Iraq is a testament to their success in turning that country around and training Iraqi security forces to take their country’s security into their own hands.” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the organization. “Our troops deserve a big pat on the back for a job well done. Even as President Obama lathered praise on the Iraqi people today, we all know that the real congratulations go to our troops, without them none of this would be possible. “We should also recognize President George W. Bush, who deserves much credit for today. Without his leadership and commitment to this mission, sending in more troops with a surge, you would have seen a much different day, one marked by much more violence, bloodshed and upheaval. President Bush had to stand up to politicians like Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and then Senator Barack Obama, who wanted an immediate troop withdrawal and acceptance of an American defeat. According to a report from U.S. Iraq commander Gen. Ray Odierno that was obtained by The Associated Press, he reported that only 3 or 4 significant events of disruption occurred in the entire country. Polls closed at 5 p.m., and the day's relatively low level of violence was widely seen as a victory for Iraqi security services. Though no official turnout numbers will be available until Monday, anecdotal reports from polling stations around the country suggested turnout was strong. In some areas, local election officials reported unofficially turnout had been more than 70%. "The Iraqi people have seen much worse than this," said Ibtihal Khaled, a 51-year-old housewife waiting to vote in Baghdad's predominantly Shiite neighborhood of Utaifiya, according to the Wall Street Journal. "A few bombs won't keep them away from the polls." “We are very glad that the elections went so well today, and we honor the U.S. military for making it possible. We congratulate the Iraqi people for coming out in force to claim democracy. Above all, every American troop who has ever served in Iraq deserves a huge ‘thank you’ today. Iraq has a bright future thanks to them, and America is safer thanks to their hard work,” concluded Gonzalez.

Pro-Troop Organization Says It’s Time to Pull Out of Haiti
Sacramento, Calif. – “It is time to get the United States military out of Haiti and back home,” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots, pro-troop organization. “If President Barack Obama is eager to get U.S. troops disengaged from foreign assignments, this is a much better place to start than in the war against terrorism.” “Our military was uniquely able to deploy to Haiti with the men and material to help that beleaguered country recover from the trauma of a cataclysmic earthquake. But that mission is done, and our remarkable military men and women excelled once again. While we are always generous to help our neighbors in need, the United States military is a fighting force and not a social welfare agency. Our troops have accomplished what they needed to do and it’s time for them to come home and rest up for their much larger mission of waging the global war on terror.” The Commanding General of U.S. forces in Haiti, Army Lieutenant General Ken Keen, said there are still 13,000 military personnel in Haiti or off shore. There had been over 20,000 at the peak, but many have returned to the United States as other humanitarian efforts have taken over. There have already been six reported cases of falciparum malaria infecting troops from the 82nd Airborne Division stationed in Haiti. This virulent form of malaria can be fatal. “With casualty rates going up in Afghanistan, we should not be adding to the military burden by exposing them to tropical diseases in Haiti,” Gonzalez added. “Our troops have done a great job in Haiti; they have prevented mass violence and crime from taking hold; and they’ve provided security for hundreds of aid organizations. But their mission is to keep America safe and fight the war on terror, not provide humanitarian aid on a long term basis. It is time for our troops to come home from Haiti. “America is also trying to wage two wars, and our troops are coming home exhausted after deployments. These troops need time to rest up and be with their families as they may be asked to return to the battlefield. We appreciate President Obama wanting to be a good neighbor to Haiti and Chile, but we expect the Commander-in-Chief to put our troops well-being and our nation’s security first,” concluded Gonzalez.

SAVE $311 MILLION IN FEDERAL BUDGET REJECT OBAMA PLAN TO PURCHASE ILLINOIS PRISON KEEP TERRORISTS IN GITMO FOR TRIALS AND SAVE TAXPAYER MONEY
Sacramento, Calif. – Move America Forward has forwarded a plan to President Barack Obama and Members of Congress that would save taxpayers money and keep Americans safer – eliminate from Obama’s Budget proposal the purchase of an Illinois prison to house terrorists and the idea of trying terrorists in the United States. “Trim the budget and save some of the taxpayers’ money by holding the terror trials at Guantanamo Bay. It costs a lot less than trying them in the U.S. and will contribute to keeping Americans safer,” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the pro-military group. “The President could save over $311 million dollars by holding the terrorist trials of Khalid Sheikh Muhammed and others at Guantanamo and continuing to house the already identified untransferrable detainees.” President Obama’s budget includes a shocking $172 million to buy a state prison in Thomson, Illinois and another $66 million to staff it and upgrade the security to supermax level. The president is also asking for another $73 million to conduct the Khalid Sheikh Mohamed and other 9/11 conspirator trials. “Officials in New York predicted the trial there could cost up to $1 billion in security costs alone. This is a ridiculous burden on American taxpayers when there is a better alternative in trying these terrorists in military tribunals at Guantanamo Bay. Save the taxpayers’ money,” said Gonzalez. Move America Forward is the largest grassroots non-profit organization in the country. Our mission is to support our troops and their operations on the global war on terror. In 2008 Move America Forward led a delegation to visit Guantanamo Bay and found no evidence of any torture or mistreatment to the detainees there. Since returning Move America Forward has argued that Guantanamo Bay is the ideal facility to house America’s most dangerous detainees, and it should continue to stay open and operational. OBAMA TRIES TO TAKE CREDIT FOR SUCCESS IN IRAQ DESPITE OPPOSITION TO TROOP SURGE PRESIDENT’S SPEECH BARELY ADDRESSES SECURITY CONCERNS OF AMERICANS
Sacramento, Calif. – Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization took offense last night as President Obama tried to take credit for the success of the Iraq War when he was a bitter opponent of the successful troop surge implemented by President George W. Bush. Obama proclaimed “I promised I would end this war, and that is what I am doing as President. “ Shawn Callahan, Executive Director of Move America Forward, said “without the surge America would have left Iraq with the war lost to the insurgents. If Obama had been in charge of the Iraq war, it would have been lost along with the needless loss of potentially thousands of innocent Iraqis who would have been at the mercy of the terrorists and criminals. Americans would be further at risk with a more emboldened terrorist network. “It is reprehensible for the President to take credit for a war his predecessor won. Then-Senator Obama criticized the Iraq war, called it a dumb war, said our troops would fail and that the surge would make things worse. History has proved him wrong, and yet he still tries to somehow take credit for our troop’s success without even congratulating them on the good job they have done.” His speech offered only a few minutes to the subject of national security after speaking at length about a multitude of other issues that Obama felt were more important despite the fact that the country is at war. President Obama also failed to address security in several other ways: • The President failed to recognize America’s “war on terror.” His Administration continues to treat terrorism as a police action despite the threat against America by a group of extremists who have declared war on us. • The President makes no mention of Guantanamo Bay, nor does he acknowledge that his own Administration has found terrorists held there who should be detained indefinitely. • The President talked tough about nuclear disarmament with respect to North Korea and mentioned Iran, but his pandering around the world has brought no success in stopping their nuclear ambitions. • Obama refused to address complaints that the Christmas bomber is being treated as a criminal defendant with full constitutional rights instead of an enemy combatant who should be in the hands of the U.S. military and intelligence agencies. PRESIDENT’S SECURITY ADDRESS DISPLAYS AN UNWILLINGNESS TO KEEP AMERICA SAFE
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – The nation’s largest pro-troop organization, Move America Forward, sharply criticized President Barrack Obama for creating a tone of being more concerned about the rights of foreigners than protecting the lives of Americans. “The problem that permeates the entire Obama Administration is they insist on treating the war on terrorism as if it is a Chicago street gang entitled to the protections of the United States Constitution,” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications. Move America Forward expressed deep disappointment with the tone of President Obama’s speech and the findings of his security reviews by his cabinet officials John Brenner and Janet Napolitano. “It is unacceptable to just claim human error and systematic problems, but not assign responsibility except to say ‘the buck stops here.’ The blame does rest with the President for creating an atmosphere in his Administration where no one wants to offend anyone – not even a terrorist,” said Gonzalez. “Obama said that as a country we would not have a siege mentality and we wouldn’t hide behind the walls of suspicion and mistrust. This is ignoring the fact that America is under siege, and we have bad people at our borders trying to get. Most importantly, visiting the United States is a privilege not a right, and we shouldn’t be afraid to deny people that privilege if there is any chance they pose a threat.” A report released by the White House claimed that the security failure that allowed Abdulmutallab to escape being put on a watch list was ‘systematic’ and a ‘failure to connect the dots’. One section of the report reveals that although sufficient evidence existed in the system, “The state cable nominating Mr. Abdulmutallab did not meet the minimum derogatory standard to watch list.” “Why have rigid standards? If there is any evidence that a foreign national is a terrorist, keep them out first. Ask questions later,” said Gonzalez. “This business of trying to make sure you have a whole mountain of evidence before you can place a hold on a potential terrorist is ridiculous. We are not infringing on his rights by denying him access to fly to America, that’s our right as a country to protect our borders and decide who can come to our country; we have that right. The American people would rather erroneously deny a few people entry if that’s the price we have to pay for making sure we keep all the bad guys out. That’s the tough reality Obama should have faced – his first priority is our safety.” “Further evidence of the backwards thinking in the Administration is that Abdulmutallab is in a civilian facility with all the constitutional rights as any American. That is plain wrong. He is an enemy combatant and should be at Guantanamo Bay being interrogated by our military and civilian intelligence agencies,” Gonzalez concluded.

PRO-TROOP GROUP TELLS COUNCIL OF AMERICAN-ISLAMIC RELATIONS TO “BE HONEST” ABOUT AIRPORT SECURITY.
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – The nation’s largest pro-troop organization, Move America Forward, fired back at one of the country’s most visible Muslim organizations, CAIR, on Tuesday. Taking issue with the Council of American-Islamic Relations officials who appeared on cable news networks claiming that new airport security measures amounted to racial and religious profiling targeted Muslims. Move America Forward responded, “If CAIR is upset about airport security, they aren’t the only ones. Americans are upset that so many travelers now have to go through extreme security measures because of an extremely small yet identifiable minority,” said Shawn Callahan, Executive Director of Move America Forward. “We still stress the need for law enforcement to follow up leads on anyone who we have behavioral information on, but let’s be honest; we know exactly who we are looking for. What needs to happen is for law enforcement to have the freedom and ability to scrutinize and follow up on anyone without fear of being labeled a ‘racist’ or ‘profiling’. Yesterday CAIR told news agencies, "Under these new guidelines, almost every American Muslim who travels to see family or friends or goes on pilgrimage to Mecca will automatically be singled out for special security checks -- that's profiling," said Nihad Awad, the council's national executive director. "While singling out travelers based on religion and national origin may make some people feel safer, it only serves to alienate and stigmatize Muslims and does nothing to improve airline security." “The Council just isn’t being honest about terrorism,” said Callahan. “Whether you call it profiling or whether you call it statistical probability, we know from the attempted Christmas day bombing and the Fort Hood shooting just last month that security is failing and we have to ask why. Part of the failure is due to hypersensitivity and political correctness.” “CAIR and some other groups such as the ACLU are one of the principal offenders; they are the ones keeping airport security from being honest, efficient, and common-sense.” said Callahan. “They are so quick file lawsuits, to cry racism or claim religious discrimination. What we need is a common sense security policy that targets the most likely threats and not innocent travelers who we know pose almost no risk.”

PRO-TROOP GROUP LEARNS AL QAEDA CO-CONSPIRATORS IN CHRISTMAS DETROIT AIRLINE BOMBING WERE RELEASED FROM GITMO
Sacramento, Calif. - Move America Forward, the nation's largest grassroots pro-troop organization, has learned that two of the four co-conspirators who helped Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab had actually been detained by the U.S. at Guantanamo Bay and released in 2007 to Saudi Arabia where they underwent a Saudi "rehabilitation" program designed to cure them of their radical ideology. "We have warned about these supposed rehabilitation programs before, it is well documented that other former graduates of the Saudi program promptly returned to their terrorist ways after being released," said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the pro-troop group. "With this latest news we now have further evidence that these programs do not work and as soon as the supposedly cured terrorists gain their freedom they go back to Al Qaeda and plot attacks or return to the battlefield. Our troops should not be having to deal with the same terrorist twice. These people were released in 2007 but we know that the Obama administration has been sending more detainees to Saudi Arabia to go through this program and plan to continue using it in future, so we are calling on Obama to immediately stop sending these terrorists back overseas where they arent properly monitored and start taking his job of keeping America safe seriously." 9/11 Families and Gold Star Families Sign Open Letter Condemning Terror Trials in NYC.
Petition Accuses President Obama of “inviting jihad”
Sacramento, CA – The pro-troop group Move America Forward published an open letter, written and endorsed by a group of 9/11 families and military Gold Star families, condemning the Obama Administration’s decision to bring terrorists to trial in New York City. The group has posted the letter on their website (www.MoveAmericaForward.com) and is encouraging others that agree with them, to sign on and make their opposition heard. The letter is a response to the news last week that President Obama would allow 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four co-conspirators to stand trial in New York City, just blocks from where those traumatic attacks took place. The letter is written and signed by a group of concerned families that lost loved ones in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and families that have lost members in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting to make sure that such a tragedy does not happen again. “Many of us have attended the trials of these murderers,” reads the letter, specifically voicing concerns from the 9/11 families, “We have seen for ourselves how they, and in some cases their ACLU lawyers, attempted to waste the courts time, taunted our families, and interfered with court proceedings.” The group echoes the warnings of NY Mayor Rudy Giuliani who has pointed out the difficulty of prosecuting enemy combatants in a civilian court in New York. The group accuses Obama of setting-back America’s war on terror, and dishonoring the memories of troops who died in that war. “Bringing terrorists from Guantanamo Bay to New York City,” reads the petition, “on American soil, which our troops have bled for, fought and died to protect, is a huge insult to those troops who have sacrificed so much. We sent them thousands of miles away to destroy a threat, but you have decided to invite that very threat, Jihad, into this country. “ “It’s a very strongly worded response,” says the group’s Executive Director, Shawn Callahan. “But these families feel that what Obama has done this time is going too far; putting our country at risk, and even more hurtfully, tarnishing the memories of the loved ones they lost either in a terrorist attack, or a war to stop the terrorists. It is our hope that Americans will respond loudly that they disapprove of this decision and want it rescinded. “ The full text of the open letter/petition is available at http://www.moveamericaforward.org as well as the list of 9/11 families and Gold Star families endorsing it.

Pro-Troop Group Blasts Senate Democrats Putting Party over Country
Sacramento, CA – Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization , said members of the U.S. Senate are putting politics over their country by changing positions to support President Obama’s desire to close Guantanamo Bay and bring terrorists onto U.S. soil. “This is exactly what sickens the American people with politics. Members of the Senate have been making it clear they opposed funding the transfer of terrorist detainees from Guantanamo Bay to the United States. But, now at the drop of a hat from the Obama Administration, they cave in and expose their true feelings – diametrically opposed by American citizens,” said Shawn Callahan, Executive Director of Move America Forward. As the Obama Administration has been reviewing possible locations to relocate GITMO here to America, Congress has refused to give funding or authorization to enact such a move. Now, the Senate has given the authority and the funding to bring terrorists to the United States. “Bringing GITMO terrorists to the U.S. is dangerous. Not only will it give the terrorists a platform to recruit more terrorists from around the world, but the constitutional protections that will not be afforded to these enemy combatants will allow them to expose some of America’s intelligence secrets through trial discovery,” asserted Callahan. The Senate previously voted 90 to 6 with 3 abstaining against allowing Obama to bring terrorist from Guantanamo Bay into the United States. At that time even Senator Harry Reid said, “This is neither the time nor the bill to deal with this. Democrats under no circumstances will move forward without a comprehensive, responsible plan from the president.” Yet in today’s vote, all but one Democrat who previously had voted against GITMO in the U.S. changed positions. “The Democrats in the U.S. Senate had the right idea in the first place and they knew that it was absolutely irresponsible to give President Obama the freedom to move GITMO detainees to the U.S. without a rational and detailed plan as to how it could be done while guaranteeing the safety of the American people. “We have not seen that plan, most likely because there is no way to do it without putting innocent Americans in danger. These Democrats have gone back on their word by voting to allow President Obama to have this power without a plan for how to implement it. Obviously these Senators care more about the politics of appeasing the left-wing than protecting Americans from terror and being responsible with our homeland security,” concluded Callahan.

Obama Blunders with 9/11 Terrorist Trials Not Learned from History – Being “Soft” on Terrorism
SACRAMENTO, CA – Move America Forward today joined with New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and criticized President Obama for being soft on terrorism and repeating the mistakes of the previous administrations by treating the 9/11 terrorists as criminals rather than enemy combatants that are waging a war against our country. “We can barely control our outrage that Barack Obama has decided to bring the mastermind and four other terrorist accomplices of the 9/11 attacks on the United States to New York City for a civilian trial where they will get ALL of the rights of American citizens,” said Shawn Callahan, Executive Director. “It took the horrific attacks of 9/11 for us to realize that we are in a war with Islamic terrorism. This isn’t a case of a criminal gang operating in Chicago. This is a worldwide network that is out to destroy every vestige of freedom we have. It is shocking and appalling that Obama and his left-wing Attorney General, Eric Holder, want to treat these murderous terrorists as common criminals with full constitutional protections. “Do you think we should have brought the Nazi war crimes trials to the U.S. so they could have had the full protection of the Bill of Rights? Of course NOT, and it is ridiculous that Obama is now treating these enemy combatants as common criminals. He is more concerned about placating liberals and protecting the civil rights of terrorists than he is in protecting American security. It is simply shameful.” There are a number of procedural concerns. The rules of search and seizure and chain of evidence do not translate to enemies captured on the battlefield in the Middle East. It is very possible that much of the evidence against these terrorists will not be allowed in court. Defendants in civilian trials are entitled to all of the evidence, which means the terrorists will get to see how American intelligence officials have been able to piece together information on al Qaida. It does not make any sense to allow terrorists to find out our means of tracking them down. Obama doesn’t seem to be all too worried about it, but Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City Mayor, recalled that after the 1993 bombing of the WTC, the subsequent trial cost “millions and millions of dollars” and he also said “Anyone that tells you this doesn’t create additional security problems isn’t telling you the truth.” “Obama’s decision to bring terrorists to U.S. soil puts American lives at risk by making New York a major target for terrorists again!” asserted Callahan.

Pro-Troop Group Outraged Obama Allows 9/11 Killers to be Tried on Sacred U.S. Soil
Sacramento, CA - Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, was shocked and appalled to learn the Obama Administration plans to allow 9/11 mastermind and four other 9/11 suspects currently held at Guantanamo Bay to be tried in civilian court in New York City. “It is shocking that this Administration is more concerned about the rights of terrorists being fully protected in American courts than in the swift and effective justice available to our enemies in military courts in Guantanamo Bay,” said Shawn Callahan, Executive Director of Move America Forward. “This is an outrage and a betrayal to our troops who have sacrificed, and a betrayal to the 9/11 families who have suffered so much. My son gave up his life fighting the terrorists, as did over 5,000 other brave warriors, to keep terrorists from coming to the homeland, and now Obama is bringing them here so they can have more legal rights. It is simply outrageous,” said Move America Forward spokeswomen and Gold Star mom Debbie Lee. “Allowing those terrorists to stand trial in a civilian court, giving them the same rights and defense as American citizens, is a clear case of misplaced priorities. To bring these murdering terrorists only up the street from where their evil plans resulted in the deaths of 3,000 innocent people is a slap in the face to all Americans. It is especially insulting to those family members who still carry the burden of the horrific attacks on 9/11 that killed their loved ones. What a dishonor to our men and women who have so faithfully served and sacrificed to defend our nation and have died trying to bring the killers to justice.” The announcement was made by Attorney General Eric Holder, who said he is confident that the court will provide a fair trial for the 9/11 conspirators and that justice will be served. “The clear implication is that the United States military courts are not good enough to try these terrorists. This is a horrible affront to our military, which comes as no surprise given the extreme left-wing political leanings of Obama appointees in the U.S. Justice Department. They are more concerned with the well-being and rights of the terrorists than those that are currently on the frontlines defending our country from these evil men,” Lee added. There are many legal concerns with integrating the terrorists into the Federal legal system and granting them the rights of U.S. citizens. Discovery rules allow civilian criminal defendants access to American secrets, including methods and means of obtaining evidence against terrorist groups. “Obama has taken a dangerous course in exposing to the terrorist network some of America’s key methods of protecting the homeland. When Guantanamo Bay’s military courts provided the perfect solution, we are seeing political correctness take the place of common sense,” Callahan said. Move America Forward sent a delegation to Guantanamo Bay on a fact-finding mission in 2008. They found the facility to be top-notch and have since then urged Obama to keep Guantanamo Bay open. The group voiced concerns that bringing terrorists to U.S. soil would open the door to legal loopholes that might allow some terrorists to escape justice. “If even one of those terrorists avoids his just punishment because of Obama or his administration’s actions in this matter, “ Lee concluded, “ it would be the ‘Ultimate Sin’ against the troops who have served and died, the 9/11 families, and a country that has lived with the trauma of 9/11 for 8 years and is thirsty for justice. “

Pro-Troop Group Warns: Fort Hood Murders Show Lethal Results of Political Correctness
SACRAMENTO, CA - Move America Forward, the nation’s largest pro-troop, grassroots organization, today criticized the culture of political correctness that allowed this tragedy to happen and mass media’s quick defense of Nidal Hasan’s Fort Hood attacks as just a soldier’s frustration, ignoring the obvious questions about his faith and ties to radical Islam. Prior to the shooting, authorities knew that Hasan had contacted Al Qaeda, proclaimed his allegiance to radical Islam over the Army, visited radical Jihadist websites and openly applauded acts of terrorism committed against the US. Many of Hasan’s peers had expressed their concerns about him and his co-workers at Walter Reed even worried that he was psychotic. Doctors there said they also wanted to report Hasan for un-American statements but were afraid to appear discriminatory against a Muslim. All of these glaring warning signs were over-looked in the name of tolerance, diversity and appeasement of political correctness. “The warning signs were there, but no one could speak up for fear of being accused of profiling or being called a racist,” said Shawn Callahan, Executive Director of Move America Forward. As soon as it became public that the shooter’s name was Nidal Malik Hasan, media outlets had a knee-jerk reaction to pre-empt questions about possible religious motivations for the attack that left 13 people dead. President Obama warned against “jumping to conclusions.” But the media had made up their minds already: This was a story about an overworked Army psychologist overcome by the horrifying war stories of his patients. He could not take the pressure and stress of war any longer and snapped. Hasan’s shooting spree was motivated by his belief in a radical brand of Islam that is also followed by Al Qaeda, the Taliban and other enemies of America; a brand of Islam that has no intention of assimilating into America and whose goal is to destroy our way of life. “We cannot defeat radical Islam until we acknowledge that it exists and face the reality that its followers want to destroy our way of life. We must have the resolve to confront the enemy when we see signs so that something this tragic does not happen again,” concluded Callahan.

Pro-Troop Group MAF says “Our Thoughts and Prayers go out to the Families” of Ft. Hood Soldiers
Sacramento, CA – Move America Forward, the nation’s leading pro-troop organization, was shocked and dismayed to hear the news that 12 U.S. Troops were killed, as well as over 30 wounded at Ft. Hood, the U.S Army base in Killeen, Texas. Debbie Lee, Gold Star Mother and spokesperson for Move America Forward, said, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that took place today in Texas at Fort Hood. The loss of life in this manner is deeply tragic and is a sad day for our military and for the United States. When we lose one of America’s brave, whether abroad or he at home, it saddens us greatly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of those affected by this tragedy.” Debbie Lee knows what it’s like to lose a family member in the military. Her son Marc Alan Lee, was the first U.S. Navy SEAL to be killed in action in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Marc was killed in 2006 by a sniper’s bullet after risking his life several times to save his friends, fellow Navy SEALS. Since them, Debbie has traveled the country, visited Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, speaking out in support of U.S. Troops and the dangerous missions they undertake to protect American security. Debbie Lee and Move America Forward extend the offer to help the families involved in any way appropriate and possible. Debbie Lee is also available for comment.

President Obama Hiding Risks of Moving Guantanamo Bay Detainees to Michigan
Sacramento , CA – Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, condemns President Obama and Department of Defense Secretary Robert Gates for denying Michigan Congressman Hoekstra’s request to let state and local officials tour the prison at Guantanamo Bay. “When Americans are rightly concerned and opposed to President Obama’s plan to close Guantanamo Bay Detention Center and bring terrorists to American shores, it is outrageous that the Administration would deny access to a Congressman who represents a state likely to get stuck with the terrorist,” said Shawn Callahan, Executive Director of Move America Forward. “By denying the reasonable request of Congressman Hoakstra so that he can do his due diligence and see what is involved with Guantanamo, it makes a mockery of the transparency that President Obama touted during his campaign. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, who is the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, asked the Pentagon to take a look at the facility for terror detainees after a maximum security prison in Standish, Michigan, was named as a potential site to transfer the prisoners. Hoekstra asked that Michigan local officials accompany him to evaluate the risks to Michigan residents. Defense Secretary Robert Gates told Hoekstra the Administration was seriously reviewing a number of options for relocating the detainees and a visit by state and local officials would be "premature." “With Obama demanding the detainees be moved by the end of the year, this would hardly be called ‘premature.’ This is just another move by the Obama administration to stifle opposition or anyone that calls into question the logic of moving terrorists to the U.S. We applaud Congressman Hoekstra’s determination to get the facts,” Callahan concluded. A Move America Forward delegation travelled to Guantanamo Bay in 2008 to see firsthand the conditions for detainees and U.S. military personnel. We believe the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center is a perfectly acceptable solution that has been operating successfully and greatly contributed to our safety since 9/11. It is a necessary tool in our war on terror.

Move America Forward Condemns Obama for Politicizing National Security to Close Gitmo Congressman Hoekstra Criticized for Doing his Job and Questioning Obama’s Inadequate Plan to Bring Gitmo Detainees to the U.S.
Sacramento , CA – Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, condemns the obvious ploy by the Obama Administration to politicize the Gitmo debate. In a letter sent by the National Security Organization dated 8/27, Michigan Congressman Peter Hoekstra is criticized for the concerns he raised about the transfer of Guantanamo detainees to his state. The accusatory letter asks Congressman Hoekstra to refrain from “Politicizing national security for partisan gain.” Public sentiment has turned strongly against the Obama plan to close Gitmo and bring the terrorist detainees into the United States. “This is an obvious ploy by the Obama Administration to reverse their sagging support. Even the Democratic Congress has been unwilling thus far to appropriate funds for the transfer until a realistic plan is developed. They are trying to silence any dissent or debate, the same as the Obama administration continues to try and silence opposition to their healthcare bill. There is a pattern here and the message is clear; we believe in freedom of speech, unless you disagree with us,” said Shawn Callahan, Executive Director of MAF. “Congressman Hoekstra should not be silenced for expressing legitimate concerns about bringing terrorists to the U.S. and housing them at Standish Maximum Security Facility in Michigan. He is being lambasted for representing the constituents that he represents in voicing their security concerns about bringing enemies of the U.S. to American soil. To question his motives and try to silence him, makes the National Security Network guilty of the very thing they are accusing him of. The National Security Network is comprised of former military, intelligence and national security officials, who either are part of the Obama Administration and unable to speak freely or part of the small group of military officers and security officials that supported Obama’s political campaign. “Having partisan Obama supporters attack opponents of his Gitmo closing policy is the real political game. Instead of trying to hype their flawed policy, Americans would be better served if Obama wakes up and recognizes that we do have a war on terror going on. September 11th was not a criminal act; it was an act of war!,” Callahan concluded. Move America Forward believes that Guantanamo Bay Detention center serves American security interests and has been operating successfully. It has greatly contributed to our safety since 9/11 and is a necessary tool in our war on terror.

Pro-Troop Group Warns Obama: U.S. Based GITMO Unnecessary, Unsafe

Pro-Troop Group Warns Obama: U.S. Based GITMO Unnecessary, Unsafe Group Toured Gitmo, Seeks to Keep Camps Open
SACRAMENTO – Move America Forward (MAF, www.MoveAmericaForward.org), the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, is disturbed about reports from multiple news sources yesterday, that Obama Administration officials have admitted they are working on plans and reviewing possible locations for relocating terrorist detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to an existing facility in the U.S.
Move America Forward takes issue with the fact that the Obama administration is now proposing to spend tax payer’s money to upgrade and secure a new site in the U.S. to house the detainees all in an effort to mirror the existing facility. Plain and simple, Gitmo serves it’s purpose and works and there is no need to set up a similar facility in the U.S. for the purpose of putting politics over the safety of our country.
In 2006, the group traveled to Guantanamo Bay to visit the base. MAF reported back that Guantanamo Bay was the only appropriate facility to house and prosecute detainees, and that they found no signs of mistreatment. Detainees were in fact treated with as much or more respect than they deserved.
Shawn Callahan, Executive Director of MAF, said “We absolutely oppose any plan to house Gitmo detainees anywhere in the United States and furthermore contend that any move to do so would put American lives in jeopardy. It is clear that President Obama is more concerned with appeasing the liberal wing of his party and, based on polls, is out of step with the majority American’s.”
Move America Forward has been at the center of the Gitmo debate, held press conferences with Sen. Inhofe, appeared on National TV and produced advertisements for television to debate the issue.
Callahan said that, “Bringing the detainees to U.S. soil might award them rights under U.S. courts that the detainees do not deserve. Upgrading U.S. prisons with higher security and courtrooms in-house makes no sense when Guantanamo Bay already has those facilities. And even more dangerous is the possibility that once in the U.S. prison system, that the terrorists could spread their radical views to other inmates or that the facilities could become a target for further terrorist attacks.”
